Bobbito and BOUNCE Magazine Pay Tribute to Nuyorican Basketball Legends

The "Puerto Rico Issue" of BOUNCE, an outstanding magazine dedicated to playground basketball, pays homage to legendary players on the island and in NYC. View or download it here for free.

The magazine's co-founder and editor-in-chief, Bobbito Garcia, a.k.a. DJ Cucumber Slice, Kool Bob Love, Make It Happen and many other IDs, has as many talents as nicknames (see his video bio and this inspiring video). Among his many achievements: the Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show, which introduced countless (now famous) hip-hop artists to the airwaves in the 1990s; the critically acclaimed book Where'd You Get Those? New York City Sneaker Culture, 1960-1987, and the compliations "Earthtones: Music from the Latin Diaspora" and (with DJ Rich Medina) "The Connection: Modern Explorations in Afro-Beat and Afro-Latin." Also note: He plays ball.
