I was struck by Pat Buchanan’s comments on the hearings on MSNBC today. Why can’t white Americans understand that a person of color has to live in two worlds simultaneously to survive in America? Satamayor does not have two personalities, just two realities. It takes some experience to master and not become depressed but most professional people of color live in two worlds and two realities easily and it is a survival technique. African Americans began this technique to survive slavery.
Pat Buchanan elaborated on his comments yesterday at Rachel Maddow's show. It's quite disturbing that there are people out there that might think like him, and even more worrisome, that this rhetoric takes over the Republican party. I hope not.
