September 15 (6- 8 p.m.) Painted Ideas. Visual Poetry from Latin America. Curated by Cecilia Vicuña. An exhibition of prints, books, sculpture, posters, digital prints, and photographs documenting the visual poetry anthologized in the recently published Oxford Book of Latin American Poetry, edited by Cecilia Vicuña and Ernesto L. Grosman. Spanning from pre-Columbian times to the present, the exhibition includes works by Vicente Huidobro, Joaquín Torres García, Xul Solar, MADI, Concrete Poetry from Brazil, Haroldo de Campos, Augusto de Campos, Décio Pignatari, amereida, Octavio Paz, Jorge Eduardo Eielson, Nicanor Parra, Simón Rodríguez, Guaman Poma de Ayala, José Juan Tablada, Edgardo Antonio Vigo, Juan Luis Martínez, Raul Zurita, and Josely Vianna Baptista, among others.
