Some Literary Events / December 18 - 24

December 18 (Starts 10 pm) Nuyorican Friday Night Poetry Slam. Since 1989, an ever growing New York City's tradition. Please arrive early (suggested arrival is 9:15 pm). Admission: 10$. December 20 (10 am - 6 pm) Posadas and Pastorelas. Mano a Mano: Mexican Culture Without Borders and The Museum of the City of New York  present popular Holyday celebrations from Mexico, with posadas (singing holiday processions), pastorelas (traditional shepherds’ play), and a party with piñatas. December 20 (12 pm sharp) Edwin Torres at the Acentos Writers Workshop. The acclaimed hands-on poetry and prose series organized by Acentos Foundation welcomes the author of The All Union Day of the Shock Worker, Fractured Humorous, Lung Poetry, and In The Function Of External Circumstances (Nightboat Books, 2009). December 21 (6:30 pm - 8:30 pm) Bilingual Creative Writing Workshop. Mano a Mano: Mexican Culture Without Borders and the New York Writers Coalition present a weekly workshop for Spanish- and English-language writers of all levels of experience.
