January 17 (12 pm - 2 pm) Sammy Miranda at the Acentos Writers Workshop. The acclaimed hands-on writing series organized by Acentos Foundation welcomes Sammy Miranda, author of the self-published chapbook Tossing Tokens, who is also featured in Dropping Dime, a CD compilation of writers and musicians from Washington, D.C. January 18 (6 pm) Henry Guzmán at Cornelia Street Cafe's Writers Room. New York's venerable urban writers' colony presents a monthly reading of new material. The presentation includes the latest work from playwright and author Henry Guzmán who will be reading from a monologue from both old and new work, as well as an excerpt from his new novel, Pilgrim: A Fool's Manifesto.
