Some Literary Events / August 12 - 20

August 14 (12:00 - 5:30 pm) La Casita: A Home for the Heart 10th Anniversary at Lincoln Center Plaza. Featuring Aracelis Girmay, Ayisha Knight, Grace Nono, Liza Garcia, M.A.K.U., Mandingo Ambassadors, Natalio Hernandez, Willie Perdomo, and Yerbabuena. MC is Caridad "La Bruja" De La Luz. August 14 (12:00 - 5:00 pm) Writer's Circle Picnic in Central Park.NYC Latina Writer's Group will host a workshop in the park for writers interested in discussing their work with others. August 17 (7:00 pm) The Best of the Web 2010 Book Reading at McNally Jackson. A glimpse into the best writing the internet has to offer read by Brian Baldi, Elissa Bassist, Rachel Bunting, Sasha Fletcher, Krystall Languell, Leigh Stein, and August Tarrier. August 19 (7:00 - 10:00 pm) The Inspired Word NYC. Mike Geffner's poetry and spoken word reading series features well-known performers and up-and-coming voices.
