September 8 (6:00 pm). Book Presentation and Seminar: Larry Rohter's "Brazil on the Rise." 

The Center for Brazilian Studies at Columbia University presents 

New York Times reporter 

Larry Rohter, who 

served as a correspondent in Rio de Janeiro for fourteen years

September 10 (7:00 - 10:00 pm) Capicu Poetry Presents: Back 2 School Drive for the Homeless. Capicu Poetry and Cultural Showcase and the Coalition of the Homeless aims to help New York's 15,000 homeless boys and girls get the school supplies they need. $10 contribution.
