February 18 (8pm and other schedules) En el tiempo de las mariposas (“In The Time of the Butterflies”), the story of the Mirabal sisters (Patria, Minerva y María Teresa), murdered by the Trujillo regime in 1960. A new play by Caridad Svitch, based on the novel by Julia Alvarez. Presented in Spanish with English translation. At Repertorio Español, 138 East 27 Street. February 20 (3pm-4:30pm) The Mad Journey of Wilhelmina Davis. Reading of the play by Oscar A. Colón. A Cuban-American writer, Raúl Cisneros, interviews Wilhelmina Davis, the elder sister of the late-iconic playwright Leighton (Lee) Davis, and gets much more that he bargained for. This reading is free, but reservations are appreciated. February 22 (7 pm) De Novo.  A play about a Guatemalan boy who escapes to the U.S. in search of his mom and fleeing death threats from a gang. Based on a true story. Free. At  Columbia University's Lerner Hall, 2920 Broadway (at 115th St) RSVP to SIRR@law.columbia.edu

February 23-27 (8pm Wed-Fri, 3pm and 7pm Sun) Heavy Like the Weight of the FlameA one-man show written and performed by R. Ernie Silva. February 23 - March 3: La Strada (See schedules below). Written by Federico Fellini, Tullio Pinnelli and Ennio Flaiano; Spanish adaptation by Gerald Vazquez. Directed by René Buch, co-directed by Jorge Merced. Starring Luis Carlos De la Lombana, Israel Ruiz, Irene Aguilar, Winston Estevez, Nanda Abella, and Adela Maria Bolet.
