April 29 (9pm) The O’Farrill Family Band. Two generations of an astounding musical pedigree passed down from father Chico—a legendary trumpeter and composer who also did arrangements for Count Basie and Dizzy Gillespie—to his Grammy-winning son Arturo. April 30 (11:30 pm) hicha Libre with CJ Reagonomics. An up-and-coming Brooklyn-based band, inspired by the psychedelic music of the Amazon.  At S.O.B.s, 204 Varick Street. For more information click here

May 1 (8pm) CéU + Francisca Valenzuela in Concert One of the most internationally appealing singers to break out from Brazil, winner of a Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. At the Highline Ballroom, 431 W 16th Street. For more information click here.

May 1 (5:30 pm) Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra. This unique 12-piece band plays salsa covers of popular indie tunes from Arcade Fire, LCD Sound System and others. At the Brooklyn Bowl, 61 Wythe Avenue, Brooklyn. For more information click here

May 3 (8pm) Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. This local nine-piece jazz ensemble puts a unique spin on a familiar sound. Tickets start at $15. At S.O.B.s, 204 Varick Street. For more information click here

May 3-8 (8pm) Guillermo Kein and Los GuachosThe Argentinian jazz ensemble swings by the Village Vanguard for a week. At the Village Vanguard, 178 Seventh Avenue. For more information click here

May 4 (Starting 7 pm; see full schedule below) The Tango Factory. Featuring the Octavio Brunetti Quintet, one of the most influential tango bands in New York, playing both traditional and contemporary and two tango legends dancing together for the first time: Elina Roldán and Jorge Torres. May 6 (7pm) Calle 13 in Concert. Stepbrothers René Pérez Joglar and Eduardo José Cabra Martínez bring the sounds of Puerto Rico to the streets of New York. Their band has won the Latin Grammy Award ten times and the Grammy Award twice. At Irving Plaza, 17 Irving Place. For tickets click here

May 6 - 7 (7:30 pm) The Mermaid's Feet: A Dialogue in Song Across the OceansSinger/songwriters Catarina dos Santos and Raquel Z. Rivera present "The Mermaids' Feet", a composition that blends sounds from Portugal, Spain and Africa to Latin America and the Caribbean.
