April 7 - 10 (7:00 pm and other schedules; see below) Aviones de Papel. A play by Diana Chery Ramírez, directed by Aminta De Lara. The story of a man and a woman living side-by-side in lonely apartments, dealing with the contradictions of isolated living in a big city. April 7 - 10 (8:00 pm and other schedules; see below) Don Cristóbal, Billy Club Man. Inspired by the puppet plays of Federico García Lorca, the piece features shadow, hand and large figurative puppetry by Erin Orr and evocative original music by Rima Fand. April 7 - Ongoing (8:00 pm and other schedules; see below) Ghetto Klown. John Leguizamo presents his newest one-man show, which tells his story from a childhood in Queens to his earliest days onstage in the avant-garde theater of 1980s New York. April 7 - Ongoing (8:00 pm and other schedules; see below) La Barbería. New World Stages presents this musical comedy about Benny Acevedo, a Washington Heights landlord and barbershop owner who must decide whether to sell his building or remain in the neighborhood he loves after receiving a multimillion-dollar offer for the building. April 7 - Ongoing (11:00 am and other schedules; see below) El Quijote.  A festive adaptation of Cervantes' classic novel, composed of twelve scenes that tell different stories based on the original text. April 7  -Ongoing (8:00 pm and other schedules; see below) En el tiempo de las mariposas (In The Time of the Butterflies). A play by Caridad Svitch, based on the novel by Julia Alvarez. The story of the Mirabal sisters, murdered in 1960 by  thugs on the payroll of dictator Rafael Trujillo, a crime that prompted the fall of the Trujillo regime and left a deep mark in Dominican history. April 8 – 17 (8:00 pm and other schedules; see below) El Apagón (The Blackout). This play, adapted from a story by José Luis González, centers around a Puerto Rican factory worker who is riding the train up to El Barrio to witness the birth of his first child, only to find himself and his best friend caught in the Great Northeastern Blackout of 1965. Accompanied by a three-piece Latin bang. In Spanish and English. At Pregones Theater, 571-575 Walton Avenue, The Bronx. April 11 (7:00 pm) José Triana’s Palabras Comunes. The ¡Sí Cuba! Festival presents a discussion and dramatic reading of the play translated into English as Common Words. Set in Cuba between 1894 and 1914, it tells the story of the country in the years bwtween the Spanish-American War and World War I. At the Americas Society, 680 Park Avenue.
