May 19 (6:30 pm) Mike Geffner presents The Inspired Word. Every Thursday night, Mike Geffner presents this poetry/spoken word event showcasing well-known artists and new talent from around the country. May 19 (7:00 pm) New Media in Today's Cuban Literature. Rachel Price of Princeton University moderates a panel of contemporary Cuban writers who discuss the effect of technology and social media as a means of creativity and expression on and off the island. The Americas Society releases a special Cuban issue of its acclaimed journal, and features a number of speakers, all published in the Cuba issue. May 24 (7:00 pm) Editors in Translation. Featuring Celebrated American editors Barbara Epler (New Directions), Jonathan Galassi  (Farrar, Straus and Giroux), Peter Mayer (The Overlook Press), Amy Hundley (Grove Atlantic), and Valerie Miles (Duomo Ediciones) will be joined by emerging Spanish language writers Andrés Barba (Spain), Oliverio Coelho (Argentina), Carlos Labbé (Chile), Javier Montes (Spain), Alberto Olmos (Spain), and Antonio Ortuño (Mexico), in a roundtable discussion on the difficulties faced by editors and authors in translation projects. Presented by The Spain-USA Foundation and the Embassy of Spain, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture of Spain,  Duomo Ediciones, and Granta en español, as part of “Building Bridges: Spanish and English Language Writers in Conversation,” a literary tour in major US cities featuring some of the Best Young Spanish Language Novelists.
