Massachusetts is Third State to Reject Secure Communites Program, But U.S. Overrules Decision (New York Times, Boston Globe)

Gov. Deval Patrick of Massachusetts has decided that the state will not participate in a fingerprint-sharing federal program, called Secure Communities, after Gov. Pat Quinn canceled it in Illinois in May and Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo suspended New York’s participation last week.
