June 16 (6.30 pm) Music and Mexican Immigrant Life. Lecture by Cathy Ragland, author of Música Norteña: Mexican Migrants Creating a Nation between Nations (Temple University Press, 2009), a book that traces the various styles of Mexican music that have become part of the city's musical landscape. Co-sponsored by the Center for Traditional Music and Dance. Free admission; RSVP required.
