August 19 – October 9 (various times; see below) The Select. John Collins directs this Elevator Repair Service's play, based on the novel The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway. At New York Theatre Workshop, 79 East Fourth Street. For more information click here. 

August 19 - 21 (see below for schedules) Manipulation. This play by Mexican-born journalist and playwright Victoria E. Calderón centers on Christina, a young woman who feels she is losing control of her life. At Cherry Lane Theater, 38 Commerce Street. For more information click here.

September 1 - 18 (See schedules below) Passport: Regreso al Sur. Written by Gustavo Ott and directed by Alfonso Rey. With Beatriz Córdoba, David Crommett y Gabriel Gutiérrez.  In Spanish with super-titles in English. September 3 (12:0o pm) Mi Bebé es un Héroe. Scaramouches Latino Traveling Children’s Theater presents a puppet show by Eduardo Navas telling the story of a baby who can outwit villains better than his royal parents. At Instituto Cervantes, 211 East 49th Street. For more information click here

September 15 (7:00 pm) La Casa de Bernarda Alba. This play by Federico Garcia Lorca and directed by Rene Buch tells the story of a domineering mother trying to marry off her five daughters. Ongoing (8:00 pm and other schedules; see below for details) Locuras en Wichita / Wild in WichitaWinner of the Nuestras Voces’ National Latino Plays Initiative, this romantic comedy tells the unlikely story of a Mexican man and a Puerto Rican woman who fall in love at an assisted living center in Wichita, Kansas. Ongoing (8:00 pm and other schedules; see below) En el tiempo de las mariposas/ In The Time of the Butterflies. A play by Caridad Svitch, based on the novel by Julia Alvarez. The story of the Mirabal sisters, murdered in 1960 by  thugs on the payroll of dictator Rafael Trujillo, a crime that prompted the fall of the Trujillo regime and left a deep mark in Dominican history. Ongoing (see below for schedules) Doña Flor y sus dos maridos. Based on the novel by Jorge Armado and directed by Jorge Ali Triana. The story of a woman who loses her first husband, re-marries, and yet manages to live with both. Presented in Spanish with live translation. Tickets: $25. VIP seating is available.
